Let's Do A Review | Bad Blood

So, unless you've been living under an anti-social media rock, you will have heard about TayTay's new music video. If you're following her on Instagram then you'll have found it hard to miss it, I know I certainly did! From all the promotion that's been going on you'd think TayTay was releasing a multi-million dollar motion picture, not a five minute music video. Don't get me wrong, I love a good music video, and Taylor does them like nobody else, it's just there's been SO much hype. (And honestly it got a tad annoying!)

Here's a screenshot for your benefit, so you can fully appreciate just HOW MUCH she promoted the video.

Now, onto the actual video (which premiered at the Billboard Music Awards, did you know). Talk about an overwhelming amount of celebrity cast members! There were so many famous people peppered throughout! It was pretty cool to be watching and then exclaim, Ellie Goulding, Cara Delevingne, Jessica Alba! But, (yes, sadly there's a but) I think there may have been too many. Half of them were only on the screen for less than a second, and if it was me, getting kitted up in the outfits, makeup and hair to only get less than half a second of screen time, I wouldn't have been happy. So, in my opinion celebrity overkill.

The ending. Such an anti-climax! It's like Twilight all over again! SO much build up for a huge fight that will re-define fighting and war as we know it. But instead we get a bitch slap. Talk about an underwhelming disappointment!

The song.
I'm in-freaking-love with Taylor Swift's latest album. IN LOVE! And Bad Blood is one of my favourites from the album, so I was really excited when I heard it was getting a video. How could you not like the song though when you know it's about the hate between Katy Perry and Taylor? I think it's kind of hilarious, and I love that people have found links between Katy and the video.

So the song was never going to be an issue, although there was the addition of rapping, but I kind of like it.

The video was pretty incredible, in terms of set, special effects, costume, hair and makeup. They all looked incredibly kick ass, and I loved seeing TayTay preparing to go into battle with her former bestie (ring any bells?).

Overall, I think that once again Taylor produced an amazing music video, but for me it didn't hit the mark quite like Blank Space.
