It has been six years since the Awakening and peace in Spokane, Washington is still tenuous at best. The Vampires and shifters are all vying for control of the city and the humans seem to be the ones suffering the consequences, or so it seems
Aria Naveed has spent the last two years of her life fighting to make the many wrongs of the world right, but soon finds out that the humans aren't as weak as they appear and may be a more terrifying foe than any of the other races combined.
When a stranger rolls into town with trouble on his heels, Aria finds herself trapped in the middle of a battle that could cost her more than she bargained for as a fight for justice turns into an unexpected fight for her life.
So far, so good. I've not finished
Cursed By Fire just yet, I had one hell of a crazy week last week so all things blog took a back seat to the world that is uni. Despite that, I did manage to get a bit of reading in, taking the form of
Cursed By Fire.
I'm really liking Ari, she's a strong female character with some pretty cool fire abilities. She's really passionate and looks after herself, factors I love in a female character. Ari doesn't need men to help take care of her, she's got her own back and a whole load of blades. I'm all about strong independent women, I can't be doing with girls that are weak pushovers when I'm reading, it's just a big no for me.
I haven't really done the whole paranormal thing in a while, I went through a hardcore phase a while back when all I read was paranormal YA romance. Give me a fallen angel, vampire or a wear creature and I was a very happy girl. It's actually been really nice delving back into the paranormal world, I love the little bits of information that Danielle Annett provides about the paranormals, whether it be shifter or vampire. The information provided creates for really good world building, which is always good when vampires are involved.
I'm definitely going to continue on reading Cursed By Fire, I'm really enjoying it so far, and can't wait to find out what happens to Aria. Expect a review of Cursed By Fire soon! If you've read Cursed By Fire I'd love to hear what you thought of it!
